After falling in love with what was a run-down weatherboard cottage in the coastal village of Port Campbell, Georgie and Richard Selman bought what is now named Port Cottage in 2020. The dilapidated garage was rebuilt and the although the floorplan was kept as it was, the cottage was renovated to ensure it could withstand many more decades in the harsh environment the Shipwreck Coast is famous for.

The cottage was opened to guests in December 2022.

Looking out at the 12 Apostles rock formations and the Southern Ocean. There is a golden sunset hue and ocean mist causing a blur across the photo.

We respectfully acknowledge Port Cottage is on land belonging to the Kirrae Whurrong people of the Maar Nation.

Meerreengeeye which means ‘Our Country’ in Maar language includes land and waters, plants and animals, stories and spirits and citizens. Maar citizens have always had a close connection with the sea and its resources and their connection with Sea Country extends well beyond the current shoreline to the edge of the continental shelf.
